AionUI Setup Guide: Connect to the NextHub API
AionUI is an open-source (Apache-2.0) graphical AI workbench: it offers a unified graphical interface for CLI agents such as Claude Code and Codex, and also supports configuring LLM models for direct conversation. Conversation and file data are stored in a local SQLite database and never leave your device.
Connection Steps
1. Download and Install
- Windows / macOS: go to GitHub Releases and download the installer for your system (
.exe/.dmg; macOS supports both Intel and Apple Silicon) - macOS (Homebrew):
brew install aionui- Linux: download the
.debor.AppImageinstaller from the Releases page
2. Add a Custom Model
Open AionUI, go to Settings → LLM Configuration → Add Model, choose Custom as the platform, and fill it in according to the channel you want to use:
Claude Channel (Anthropic protocol):
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| API Key | your NextHub ApiKey (a Claude group) |
| API Request URL | https://api.nexthub.cc |
| Model | claude-opus-5-5, claude-fable-5, etc. |
GPT Channel (OpenAI-compatible protocol):
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| API Key | your NextHub ApiKey (GPT-Azure / GPT-Pro group) |
| API Request URL | https://api.nexthub.cc/v1 |
| Model | gpt-5.6, gpt-6-astra, etc. |
Gemini Channel (Google's native protocol):
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| API Key | your NextHub ApiKey (Gemini-aistudio / Gemini-Vertex group) |
| API Request URL | https://api.nexthub.cc |
| Model | gemini-3.7-flash, gemini-3.8-flash, etc. |
Should the URL include /v1?
For both the Anthropic protocol and Google's native Gemini protocol, fill in the bare domain https://api.nexthub.cc (the endpoint path is appended automatically by the client); for the OpenAI-compatible protocol, fill in https://api.nexthub.cc/v1. For model IDs, refer to Channels and Models and the real-time data in the Model Plaza.
3. Verify
After saving, return to the main interface, select the model you just configured, and send a test message. If you receive a reply, you are connected.
More Possibilities
AionUI also supports parallel multi-session conversations, previewing formats such as PDF / Word / Excel, and remote WebUI access — see the official AionUI Wiki for details.
